Just for Today -- A Daily Devotional

It is common among addicts to transfer their addiction to some other addiction -- but that is not healthy either, even when the object is “acceptable in society.”  The process of recovery is learning new behavior to replace the old behavior.  God is the only one that we can rely on to help us to remove the old self and create in us the new self, substituting His character with our own.  It is a covenant that we enter into when we enter into the fellowship of recovery with our AA groups. 

We have fellowship not only with each other but we will realize the complete fellowship we have with God – then we can say that we are on the road to recovery.

5 This is what God the LORD says—
he who created the heavens and stretched them out,
who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it,
who gives breath to its people,
and life to those who walk on it:

6 "I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness;
I will take hold of your hand.
I will keep you and will make you
to be a covenant for the people
and a light for the Gentiles,

7 to open eyes that are blind,
to free captives from prison
and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.

8 "I am the LORD; that is my name!
I will not give my glory to another
or my praise to idols. -- Isaiah 42: 5-8

* As you make your requests known to the Lord, include:

·        greater personal discipline,

·        worldwide persecuted Christians,

·        Hedge of protection to our children

·        Blessings to our spouses

·        Godly men in Government

·        Rest and Peace to our pastors

·        Your activities for the day.

Love One Another

Stand Together

Fight this war, no matter the cost

Pray for our children

Turn our hearts toward heaven

Seek to be one nation under God.
