JUST FOR TODAY! -- Humility and Intellect

STEP TWO: Is about the birth of faith in us.

I believe that GOD, through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, will restore me to sanity.

“For it is GOD who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.” -- Philippians 2:13.

Step Two: I Came to believe that God, through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, will restore me to sanity. "We who had won so handsomely in a walk turned into all-time losers. We saw that we had to reconsider or die. We found many in AA who once thought as we did. They helped us to get down to our right size.

By their example they showed us that humility and intellect could be compatible, provided we placed humility first. When we began to do that, we received the gift of faith, a faith which works. This faith is for you, too.”

Step Two - Came to believe -- three simple words that lead to three more simple words - God I'm Yours! Believing that God can make the change in you and then giving yourself to Him to perform His miracles, is the wisest decision you will make in your lives. The beauty of our groups is they show us that there are many who have walked our same paths - thinking we could do all without anybody's help - on our own merit -- But we get to such a depraved state that the only thing that makes any sense is that someone greater than ourselves -- who at first we have no clue who that would be - has to do it for us. That is where we come to believe in the true God the Great I Am - He is there waiting for bus to humbly come before Him and call out His name. Today, choose to believe and walk with Him.

“There must not be a strange god among you;
you must not bow down to a foreign god. I am Yahweh your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.
Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it -- Psalm 81: 9-10

STEP TWO PRAYER

God, I'm standing at the turning point of my life right now.

I know in my heart that only you can restore me to sanity.

I humbly ask that you remove all

twisted thought & addictive behavior from me this day.

Heal my spirit & restore in me a clear mind.

Give me your protection and care as I abandon myself to you

and for me to give-up my old ways

and forget my old ideas just for today.

AMEN

Came to Believe

I cried a tear that came from my soul,

Why me, I screamed, this just can't be,

It must be someone else's fault,

When, to myself, I lied.

Just this one drink and not anymore,

I often was heard to say.

It worked a thousand times before,

So why not on this day?

My soul lay naked, I looked at myself

To see what I had done.

It started out so innocently,

It really looked like fun.

Reliving it now, as I look back,

I see it all was me.

I didn't like the person at all

That I had come to be.

The change came slowly,

one day at a time,

For this I had to pray,

The steps gave me a way of life,

I practice everyday !
