Just For Today – Step Two -- Authority

STEP TWO: Is about the birth of faith in us.

I  believe that GOD, through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, will restore me to sanity.

“For it is GOD who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.” -- Philippians 2:13.

STEP TWO PRAYER

God, I'm standing at the turning point of my life right now.

I know in my heart that only you can restore me to sanity.

I humbly ask that you remove all

twisted thought & addictive behavior from me this day.

Heal my spirit & restore in me a clear mind.

Give me your protection and care as I abandon myself to you

and for me to give-up my old ways

and forget my old ideas just for today.

AMEN

"'Take it easy. The hoop you have to jump through is a lot wider than you think.  At least I've found it so.  So did a friend of mine who was a one-time vice president of the American Atheist Society, but he got through with room to spare. …

Just for Today -- A Daily Devotional

**********************************

A power greater than ourselves.  It is amazing that all the religions or Faiths in the world, the faith in Jesus Christ is the only faith where God loved us so much that He came to us.  He knew of our frailties and Our sinful nature, and came to earth in the form of man, Jesus Christ To be the sacrifice for ALL to have eternal life.  It is a simple process, Believe that Jesus was crucified on the tree for your sins, was buried And was resurrected from the grave and now sits on the right hand of the Father being our intercessor and protector.  If we believe this and that We need to repent, then we have all we need pertaining to life and Godliness.  God’s will and power takes over in us as we allow Him, And we begin to walk the road of recovery, each step opening our minds Little by little as we see the power of this God. Open your minds today, And then open your hearts to the true living God.

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.

34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

36 As it is written:
   "For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,

39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. -- Romans 8:28-39

Came to Believe

I cried a tear that came from my soul,

Please set me free, I said,

The doctor had already told the news,

That, soon I would be dead!

Why me, I screamed, this just can't be,

You know how hard I tried!

It must be someone else's fault,

When, to myself, I lied.

Just this one drink and not anymore,

I often was heard to say.

It worked a thousand times before,

So why not on this day?

My soul lay naked, I looked at myself

To see what I had done.

It started out so innocently,

It really looked like fun.

Reliving it now, as I look back,

I see it all was me.

I didn't like the person at all

That I had come to be.

The change came slowly,

one day at a time,

For this I had to pray,

The steps gave me a way of life,

I practice everyday !
