Just for Today -- A Daily
Devotional

After getting into recovery
and learning about this wonderful God who was waiting
for me to call upon Him -- I found that the success is
rebirth - being born again. It doesn't necessarily mean
we go back to the mother's womb - and come out again,
what it wants is that we reach a different period/level
of life - we are starting over - cleaning the slate so
to speak - starting like little children to learn a
whole new set of rules - stepping through our lives one
day at a time - relying on God.
“3 Jesus replied, "I assure
you: Unless someone is born again, he cannot see the
kingdom of God." 4 "But how can anyone be born when he
is old?" Nicodemus asked Him. "Can he enter his mother's
womb a second time and be born?" 5 Jesus answered, "I
assure you: Unless someone is born of water and the
Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 Whatever
is born of the flesh is flesh, and whatever is born of
the Spirit is spirit.” –
John 3:3-7
STEP THREE: Involves a
decision to let GOD be in charge of My Life.
I make a decision to turn my
will and my life over to the care of GOD through Jesus
Christ
"Therefore, I urge you,
brothers, in view of GOD’s mercy, to offer your bodies
as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to GOD - which
is your spiritual worship." -- Romans 12:1
Promise:
We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know
peace.

God, I offer myself to Thee
To build with me and to do
with me as Thou wilt.
Relieve me of the bondage of
self, that I may better do Thy will.
Take away my difficulties,
that victory over them may
bear
witness to those I would
help of Thy Power,
Thy Love and
Thy Way of life,
May I do Thy will always!
Prayer of commitment to
GOD:
Dear Jesus,
Thank YOU for making me and
loving me,
even when I ignored you and
gone my own way.
I realize I need You in my
life
and I’m sorry for my past
behavior.
I ask You to forgive me.
As much as I know how, I
want to follow You from now on.
Please come into my life and
make me a new person
inside.
I accept Your gift of
salvation.
Please help me to grow now
as a Christian.
