JUST FOR
TODAY! -- Step Three -- Willingness
STEP THREE: Involves a
decision to let GOD be in charge of My Life.
I make a decision to turn my
will and my life over to the care of GOD through Jesus
Christ
"Therefore, I urge you,
brothers, in view of GOD’s mercy, to offer your bodies
as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to GOD - which
is your spiritual worship." -- Romans 12:1
Promise:
We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know
peace.
Third Step Prayer~ (Page 63
- A. A. Big Book)
God, I offer myself to Thee
To build with me and to do
with me as Thou wilt.
Relieve me of the bondage of
self, that I may better do Thy will.
Take away my difficulties,
that victory over them may
bear
witness to those I would
help of Thy Power,
Thy Love and
Thy Way of life,
May I do Thy will always!
STEP THREE: Made a decision
to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God
as we understood Him.
"Many of us said to our Maker, AS WE
UNDERSTOOD HIM: 'God, I offer myself to Thee -- to build
with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of
the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will.
Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may
bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy
Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always!'"

When we get
into recovery we fight step three due to fear. Fear of
what? Hard to say but mostly is probably because of the
fear of loosing control. It is funny, when we are in
control, look at the outcome -- our actively addictive
lives. God wants to give us a better plan, a plan that
rebuilds us, that directs us. A plan that God has asked
us to place our burdens and our difficulties on Him.
All He asks is humbleness on our part and a desire to
let go and allow God to do the guiding of our will.
Fight no longer -- ask Him to take care
of you -- one day at a time.
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's
mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy
and pleasing to God -- this is your spiritual act of
worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of
this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what
God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. --
Romans 12: 1-2

Prayer of commitment to
GOD:
Dear Jesus,
Thank YOU for making me and
loving me,
even when I ignored you and
gone my own way.
I realize I need You in my
life
and I’m sorry for my past
behavior.
I ask You to forgive me.
As much as I know how, I
want to follow You from now on.
Please come into my life and
make me a new person
inside.
I accept Your gift of
salvation.
Please help me to grow now
as a Christian.
Amen.
God, Take my will and my
life. Guide me in my recovery.
Show me how to live. (the
step on p. 59 BB)
AMEN
