JUST FOR TODAY! -- Giving
From "The Family Afterward:"
"Family talks will be constructive if
they can be carried on without heated argument,
self-pity, self-justification or resentful criticism.
Little by little, mother and children will see they ask
too much, and father will see he gives too little.
Giving, rather than getting, will become the guiding
principle."

Just for Today -- A Daily Devotional
**********************************
Addiction is a family disease and all
members of the family are in need of recovering. It
will work if we start with honesty – acceptance and
humbleness. The family always feels the victim --
feeling resentment. As we continue to work the steps
with God’s lead, we will see that little by little --
all parties can give a little when we can start
operating in giving rather than getting, we will begin
to reflect the character of Jesus, thereby living in His
image and ways.
His Word becomes our guiding principle
and the result is that healing takes place and
relationships are restored.
“I have been crucified with Christ and I
no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live
in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who
loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside
the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained
through the law, Christ died for nothing!" -- Galatians
2:20-21
Trust in the LORD with all
your heart
and lean not on your own
understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.
Proverbs 3, 5-6
