JUST FOR TODAY! -- Responsible
From "My Name Is Michael...:"
"Day by day, one day at a time, I have
kept away from that first drink. Recovery Journey has
become my way of life. I realize that, paradoxically, I
keep my spiritual sobriety by giving it away. I am
responsible whenever and wherever a hand reaches out for
help. What freely I received, freely I must give."
c. 1976, Do you think you're different?

Responsible – something as an active addict we had
difficulty being. Once we are sober and walking God’s
will and doing the 12-steps, we have a duty to bring
this truth to other. We are to tell others what worked
for us - we are to tell others about Jesus -- we are to
tell the world.
Many temporal (earthly) benefits come
from this freely giving of truth, it keeps us away from
“using,” it keeps us in communication with God and it
helps us to remember how we got to this point in the
first place. The earthly benefits keeps us sober and it
trains us how to live, with the hope of our eternal
future; but the most important benefit is the “out of
this world” benefit -- eternal life, in the Kingdom of
God.
“This is love for God: to
obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is
the victory that has overcome the world, even our
faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who
believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” -- 1 John 5:3-5
“Yet you have a few people
in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will
walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. He
who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I
will never blot out his name from the book of life, but
will acknowledge his name before my Father and his
angels. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit
says to the churches.” -- Revelation 3:4-6
Trust in the LORD with all
your heart
and lean not on your own
understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.
Proverbs 3, 5-6

For if they fall, one will lift up the other;
