STEP ELEVEN Involves the spiritual disciplines of prayer and meditation.

We seek to know Christ more intimately through prayer and meditation, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

Just for Today -- A Daily Devotional

Knowledge – we can have all the knowledge we want, but the success comes in the “wisdom.”  Many of us have been trying to recovery for many years, in and out of rehabs, attending meetings – we are obtaining knowledge each time, but until we turn that knowledge into action – and apply it to our lives it does us no earthly good.  That is when it becomes wisdom – and understanding - - not just any ones wisdom – but Godly wisdom.  Then it begins to take effect – and we begin true recovery.

Going before God each day – gets us in communion with Him But doing so must be done with respect and fear – not fear as in frightened, but a reverent fear that allows us to call Him, LORD.

“See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the LORD my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it.  Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, "Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people."  What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to him?” -- Deuteronomy 4:5-7

“The reverent fear and worship of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom and skill [the preceding and the first essential, the prerequisite and the alphabet]; a good understanding, wisdom, and meaning have all those who do (the will of the Lord).  Their praise of Him endures forever.” -- Psalm 111:10 (amplified version) 

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
