Just For Today – Step Twelve -- Awareness

STEP TWELVE  Is about ministry

Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we try to carry the message of Christ’s grace and restoration power to others and to practice these principles in every aspect of our lives.

“Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently.  But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.” --Galatians 6:1

"So, practicing these Steps, we had a spiritual awakening about which finally there was no question. Looking at those who were only beginning and still doubted themselves, the rest of us were able to see change setting in.  From great numbers of such experiences, we could predict that the doubter who still claimed that he hadn't got the 'spiritual angle,' and who still considered his well-loved AA group the higher power, would presently love God and call Him by name."

Just for Today -- A Daily Devotional

God desires for everyman on earth to come to a saving faith of Him, the true God and call on His name as our Savior.  Faith is hard, because we are believing in the unseen - we are believing in what we have been fighting to ignore for so long.

We must remember that none of the steps are something we master, check off the list and forget about them.  Especially this step 12, it is something that we continually do through our lives.  Many in the group do consider the group to be God, but there is one greater, and this group of recovery individuals, is filled with flawed human beings who continually rely on Jesus.  The recovering addict MUST relalize their individual need for God - nothing can replace it and nothing else will work.  There is one true God and one true Savior, a God who came to us in the form of man, who walked as we walked, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father - interceding for us - His Name is Jesus.

It is a "faith walk" until God decides to remove us from this earth.  We walk and grow.  The Bible has many references to being babies, children, growing in our knowledge, allowing the Holy Spirit to work through us.

Be encouraged, even if you are struggling with turning things over to God, He is patient and kind and most of all wise.  He knows exactly what we need and when we need it.

Isaiah 43:10-13

10 "You are my witnesses," declares the LORD,
"and my servant whom I have chosen,
so that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
nor will there be one after me.

11 I, even I, am the LORD,
and apart from me there is no savior.

12 I have revealed and saved and proclaimed—
I, and not some foreign god among you.
You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "that I am God.

13 Yes, and from ancient days I am he.
No one can deliver out of my hand.
When I act, who can reverse it?"

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.

Fight this war, no matter the cost

Pray for our children

Turn our hearts toward heaven

Seek to be one nation under God.
