JUST FOR TODAY! -- Peace Of Mind

From "Today, I'm Free:"

"I am learning to practice acceptance in all circumstances of my life, so that I may enjoy peace of mind.  At one time life was a constant battle because I felt I had to go through each day fighting myself, and everyone else.  Eventually, this became a losing battle.  I ended up getting drunk and crying over my misery.  When I began to let go and let God take over my life I began to have peace of mind.  Today, I am free.  I do not have to fight anybody or anything anymore."

Just for Today -- A Daily Devotional

**********************************

Accepting circumstances doesn’t mean to lie down and be walked on.  What we are doing is realizing that God is so powerful and knowing -- and loving that He would never place us in a situation that we would not have the tools to battle.

The biggest battle that I have is me fighting God, holding onto thing too tightly or not allowing Him to talk them from me.  When I can let go and place them in His hands or at His feet – then I am totally free – the battle is His – Jehovah NIssi.

“But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.  And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.  And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.  And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah Nissi: For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” -- Exodus 17: 12-16

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.

Proverbs 3, 5-6

have a good reward for their toil.
For if they fall, one will lift up the other;
but woe to one who is alone and falls
and does not have another to help”
