Just For Today – Caring

From "Serving My Brother":

"…I frequently ask God to help me watch over my thoughts and words, that they may be the true and proper reflections of our program; to focus my aspirations once again to seek His guidance; to help me be truly kind and loving, helpful and healing, yet always filled with humility, and free from any trace of arrogance."

Just for Today -- A Daily Devotional

**********************************

If we are to teach and lead others in their recovery, we will be held to a higher accountability to God.  Therefore, we should constantly seek God's power in our lives to make sure our words and actions line up to His precepts.  We must always do so in humility and never see ourselves as better than any one else.

No matter our walk of life, we are equally addicted to our drug of choice and we are equally struggling to walk in sobriety in this earthly life.  We should honestly care for our brothers and be willing to die for our friends, as commanded by the Lord.

I John 3:15-17 (New International Version)

15Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.

16This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

17If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?

STEP TWO: Is about the birth of faith in us.

I  believe that GOD, through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, will restore me to sanity.

“For it is GOD who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.” -- Philippians 2:13.

STEP TWO PRAYER

God, I'm standing at the turning point of my life right now.

I know in my heart that only you can restore me to sanity.

I humbly ask that you remove all

twisted thought & addictive behavior from me this day.

Heal my spirit & restore in me a clear mind.

Give me your protection and care as I abandon myself to you

and for me to give-up my old ways

and forget my old ideas just for today.

AMEN
